Art for All Seasons                            Winter 2009

JOYCE LINDE

Joyce’s love affair with Louisiana created a desire within her to explore, experience and photograph as much of the land and waterscapes as possible. This artistic adventure began with the idea of creating a body of work that exhibits as much of her beauty and unique qualities inherent within Louisiana’s topography and culture.  Select pieces from 2 series by Joyce along with her photography were featured throughout the corridors of DSGF from January through March 2009. Through the Looking Glass & Fuges and Fantasies represent the evolution of her observation of the beautiful botanical shapes so abundant in Louisiana.

Joyce has exhibited throughout south and central Louisiana and her work is permanently featured in a number of Louisiana museums and collected by many of South Louisiana’s corporations. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of Louisiana at Lafayette and advanced her studies at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Aspen, CO, the Maine Photographic Workshops in Rockport, ME, the Art New England Center at Bennington College, VT, and the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts in New Orleans, LA.  Visit Joyce's website for more examples of her work.

Darnall, Sikes, Gardes & Frederick featured Joyce's artwork for the Winter 2009 Season.  We hope you enjoyed her whimsical botanical paintings and her talent of mystically capturing our Cajun culture and landscapes through photography while featured throughout our Lafayette office corridors.
